X and Y Intercepts

Standard form:

Ax+By=C

To find the X and Y intercepts in standard form for X just:

• Set Y to equal 0
• Divide by A on both sides

And it’s just opposite to finding the Y Intercept

Reference- X intercept is when the Y coordinates equals 0

Y intercept is when the X coordinates equals 0

Example:

6x+2y = 36

6x+2(0)=36

6x=36

x=6

(6,0)

6x+2y=36

6(0)+2y=36

2y=36

y=18

(0,18)

2x+3y=12

10x+20y=100

5x+2y=20

x+y=2
