[2.4] Algebra 2

*1. Given any graph of a line, be able to write and equation for the line.

*2. Given a linear equation be able to graph it.

1. To write an equation for a line you will want to use Y=MX+B form.

*The M will stand for the slope of your line.

*The B will stand for the y-intercept of the line.

Equation: Y= 1/2x + 1

Ex: Y= x-1

Try These!

A)     Y= 3/2x + 1

B)     Y= x-3

C)     Y= 2x + 4

*2. To be able to graph a line, you must be able to identify the pieces of Y=MX+B formula.

·        y=2x+2

o       The 2/1 is the slope

o       The 2 is the Y-intercept.

Ex. What is the equation of this graph of this line?

answer: Y= 1/3x-1/2!!

Try these!
